NYC Councilman Dan Halloran
The plan for a Liberty Festival in New York City was hatched back in Spring of 2009. The goal was simply to promote Constitutional values in an area that tends to care more about who won American Idol than who runs their country.
Through the process though this event teamed up with the FealGood Foundation and since then the event has much more meaning than just politics. The FealGood Foundation is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity that helps raise money for 9/11 First Responders who are suffering from Ground-Zero related illnesses.
While we still plan to have wonderful speakers and performers come to our event to promote Constitutional values, we will also be discussing what a tragedy it is that our government has for so long ignored our suffering & dying 9/11 First Responders while at the same time using them to score political points during each 9/11 anniversary. Since 9/11 over 900 First Responders have died due to Ground-Zero related illnesses.
The Liberty Festival will be donating 100% of the ticket proceeds to the FealGood Foundation. You can purchase a ticket on this website or at the door @ Social Bar and Lounge in Times Square where the event will be taking place September 18th, 2010. Tickets are just $15.
We thank our proud sponsors and partners for without their help this event could not be possible.
